Urban HQ

Urban HQ is a vibrant café, creative community hub, and flexible workspace based in Swansea’s former police station. Once an underused building, it has been reimagined as a welcoming space for collaboration, events, and everyday inspiration, blending ethical business with imaginative thinking.
One of several purpose-led ventures by Urban Foundry, Urban HQ began life in 2022 as a pop-up café. Since then, it has grown into:
• A thriving independent café
• A business and creative community hub
• A versatile event venue
• A workspace now home to 10 independent businesses
As a social enterprise, Urban HQ puts people and purpose at the heart of everything it does. It is proud to:
• Support Swansea’s creative and independent scene
• Employ local people on at least the Real Living Wage
• Serve produce from local traders, including those from its own Uplands, Marina, and Mumbles markets
• Offer flexible, welcoming workspaces for purpose-led individuals and organisations
Urban HQ continues to evolve as a space where community and creativity come together, demonstrating what’s possible when regeneration is driven by social impact, collaboration, and local pride.
