Poetry Into Light CIC

Projects, Workshops, Productions

About Me

Poetry Into Light CIC is a new Swansea-based start-up, not-for-profit organisation, offering workshops, projects, and productions. We facilitate and promote poetry and creative writing from grassroots to professional levels. Our group is a Community Interest Company (CIC) to reflect our goals around engaging diverse, ambitious, and less-represented voices. Recent start-up support for our organisation has been through Business Wales, Literature Wales, and The University of South Wales’ Bright Ideas Den.

We have partnered with some exciting venues and organisations since our formal inception in 2025 and since our work evolved from The Taliesin Arts Centre in 2022, including open mics, workshops, youth projects and poetry performance events at The Grand Theatre, Swansea Arena, Elysium, Down by Here, Volcano Theatre, the BMHS hub, and Swansea Arts Weekend. Vital experience in wide-scale project work, creative producing, and arts management has come from founder of Poetry Into Light CIC Guinevere Clark, through her studies on an MA in Arts Management at RWCMD (graduate 2026).

Poetry Into Light's key values are:
CREATIVITY, EMPOWERMENT & COLLABORATION.

Mission:
To empower individuals and communities to write, perform and enjoy poetry

Vision:
To be a catalyst for confidence and creativity, furthering access and opportunities in poetry for groups and individuals in Wales and the world.

We aim to impact peoples lives and audiences positively through creative writing, to support people from all backgrounds to express themselves creatively, and build and strengthen communities through poetry. Our unique offering is that we promote sustained engagement and a journey through poetry and offer opportunities for emerging and established poets with our participants and stakeholders being empowered to develop work from the page to the stage, create new writing and cross-arts forms on new platforms, and encourage participants to contribute to the organisations working practice.
